John Whick, Chartered FCSI

Managing Director, Business Development

John is a Managing Director at Henderson Rowe, Chartered Fellow of the CISI and is responsible for looking after clients and managing their portfolios. He takes a lead role in training and developing new members of the investment management team with a focus on promoting positive mental health in what can be a high-pressure environment.

Prior to joining Henderson Rowe in 2007, John worked as a proprietary trader for two years, trading on the European bond markets. Previously, he worked in fields ranging from research to teaching, primarily focused on economics and related subjects—work that involved academic, corporate and government settings. He earned his BSc in economics and geography from University College London before completing a MSc in global politics at Birkbeck, University of London.

John enjoys athletics and is a keen sportsman competing regularly in rugby and boxing. His other passion is music—having spent his first year at university studying for a professional qualification. John also currently works as a volunteer tutor for economics students from underprivileged backgrounds.
